Cat Beds Discussions | | Does you cat sleep in just one place, or lots of different places? | | Our cat seems to have loads of different places that she likes to fall alseep around the house. Downstairs she likes to sleep on either of the sofas. Upstairs she likes to sleep on the landing (very strange if you ask me) which is a bit annoying as we have to be careful not to trip over her, on our bed, if she gets the chance, and on a chair in the spare bedroom where we have our computers. Also sometimes she sleeps on peoples knees too! Why does she have so many places to sleep, why doesn't she just stick to one? And what about your cat(s) where does he/she/they sleep around your house? Just one place or several? | |
| | Plastic Bag Cat Bed | | Besides spending my Sunday cleaning mold out of my works mascot costume, I spent the day cleaning my apartment. Luckily my cat got the hint and went hiding in the closet so he wouldn't be disturbed and I could clean freely. When all was finished Reggie Cat came out to inspect and sat on the living room rug just staring at me. Since I had to vaccum I'd picked up the big Boscov's plastic bag that he's made his bed in the living room for the past 4 or 5 months. I was like "What? it's clean! lay down" and still the cat wouldn't lay down. Just sat and stared. Finally I got the bag back out (luckily I was smart enough not to throw it away!) and laid it back out on the rug and Reggie Cat walked on over and sprawled back out on the bed.Anyone else have cats with crazy plastic bag or weird places to make a bed fetishes? | |

| | How I Volunteer and Why | | A few years ago, I had hit a new low. I had volunteered for several types of organizations, but burned out after seeing that I couldn't really change a lot in the lives of those I wanted to help, simply because I couldn't make the choices for them. So there I was, eager to help but wary. About that time, I learned how to knit. Nothing fancy, but I started wondering as I made scarves for everyone I knew if there was a way to use my yarn and needles to help others. I checked with the shelter that I adopted my cat from and I was told that they could always use blankets for the cats and catnip toys. So I got to work, buying yarn from Walmart because it was cheap and washable. I found a program called h4ha.org, and the Snuggles project which has a directory of animal rescues and shelters around the world that accept blankets and other handcrafts to either use for the animals in their care OR sell at bazaars and craft shows to help defray the costs of caring for the animals. I have been able to donate to shelters around the country and in Canada. I work on the various things I make (blankets, cat beds, toys, ponchos for dogs) while I watch a movie or tv. The shelters have been so... | |
| | Cat beds,i have a great cat bed. | | My husband got our cats a radiator cat bed and they adore it.After trying all the different cat beds over the years that the cats hated we finally found this bed and we thought we would get one just to see if the cats would sleep in it.We are now going to get some more as the cats argue over it.I would recommend this cat bed as it is up on a radiator and out of the way and keeps the cats cosy and warm, great invention. | |
