| | How do you trian a disobedient dog? | | About 3 months ago I was given a one year old Baseji. He is a good dog some of the time (mostly when he is sleeping or calm) but for most of the day he is always doing something bad. They are a very active breed, so he is full of energy and he lets it out in many ways, none of which are good. We have 2 Cats, and he love to chase them. He just wants to play, but he takes it too far and harrasses them constantly, even hurting them unintentionaly. He chews things up, gets into the trash, eats food from the counters, spills drinks on my carpet, eats from the cat box, never listens when we tell him no, sometimes even doing things he knows hes not allowed to, just to spite me. He doesnt come when he is called, he is aggressive with other dogs, doesnt walk well on a leash and always pulls to chase dogs along the fences, and the worst part of all is that he is hurting my 6 month old son. He doesnt do it on purpose, but even an accident is not ok. Often times he will be racing around the house and he will just run him over not caring what is in his way. | | how to change bad behavior | | My cat is about 16 yrs old. I have to lock him in the bathroom at night because he will pee or crap in the house. Even in the bathroom he will mess up right outside his cat box. Why would he do that and how can I stop it. He's so old now but he never used to be that way 4 yrs ago. | |
| | Do you have a problem with neighbor cats using your gardens for a bathroom? | | I live in a complex where many people have cats. Some of those cats use my garden for a cat box and every time I go out to tend my garden, there are several more piles.
I finally came up with a solution! I put deer netting down and used stakes to keep it in place. I cut holes for the plants and when the cats go to scratch, their claws get stuck on the netting. Cats hate that so they go somewhere else. You can't see the netting but it sure upsets the cats.
I also was using beer in little containers for the slugs and I discovered that the beer was gone every morning. Now, I knew the slugs didn't drink it since it kills them. I discovered that a cat was coming and drinking all the beer every night. I had a true party animal on my hands! I had to go to a different method to kill the slugs.
I have tried red pepper, egg shells and other methods for detering the cats from pooping in my garden but so far the netting has worked the very best! | |
| | Smokey crapped on my bed | | I was watching football lol and I smokey was acting suspision in the room. I didn't pay much attention because he has his funny momentsAnyway when the match was over, I went into my room and the smell nearly sent me flying. The little git crapped on my bed. Thankfully it was pretty solid but even so I wasn't best pleased. He usually poops in the kinda bowl thing in the kitchen so why did he crap on my bed? The door wasn't locked or anything. | | So what did you get for Valentine's Day??? | | I was just wondering what everyone got for Valentine's Day? How did you spend your evening with your special someone?I decided to cook a nice meal at home, instead of trying to drag my three kids to dinner with my hubby and I. He got home from work and walked into the kitchen while i was cooking. He was standing there holding this cat. He said "happy valentine's day". I'm like okay, where are the flowers? And i got a dang cat instead. I don't know what in the whole he was thinking, when he decided to get me a cat for valentine's day. I was a little disappointed, because i rather have flowers.
So after dinner, i had planned for the family to watch movies together. But that didn't happen, because i had to get the kids ready to go to the store, to get a cat box, and some catfood. | |
| | How often do you clean your home? | | This past weekend, my parents came to visit and it was a flurry of activity before they arrived to clean up our messy house. It typically is like this whenever we expect guests- I usually wait to the last minute and then go crazy cleaning our place from top to bottom.If we aren't expecting guests, I typically try to clean the house on a weekly basis- though sometimes I slack in these duties. There are certain things that cannot wait to be cleaned (cat box, etc), but sometimes I just let things like laundry pile up until they are almost to the point of no return.Does anyone else procrastinate when it comes to cleaning? Or do you stick to a routine like I sometimes try to? It's very difficult for me to stay motivated on this subject so some words of encouragement would be appreciated. | |
| | Where do YOU put your catbox??? | | Ok, I want to get a cat. I am a cat person!! Always have been. I love dogs too, but I prefer cats. But everytime I bring it up with my husband.(Dog person) He asks, "where are you gonna put the catbox?" Well, that question always stumps me.I guess it depends on your house and the layout. But with our house right now, I would have to say that it would be...crap I don't know! Sadly, it would have to be in our front room! lol. Cause the way our house is, is you walk in and that's supposed to be the formal dining...then you go thru the room and turn the corner to the kitchen and living room. lol. But all of our bathrooms don't have room for it really...and I wouldn't want it in our master bath. Not really room there either. So where do you keep yours? | |
