HELP New Dog Problems
I have had a new female chihuahua "Honey" for exactly 2 weeks today and I am really wondering what kind of life she has had. She is about 1 year old honey colored and very scared and skittish. She has (thank heavens) made friends with my other two (Pepi and Schatzie). I am having some problems with her she was extremely obese weighing in at 11.5 lbs, is now on a diet, follows me around looking for food, but will not come to me me when I call her she acts scared as if I was going to hit her. She will come and sit by me when all is still in the house. She has NEVER been outside!! She was scared of the wind, would not walk on the grass and does not do her business outside! Supposed to be paper/puppy mat trained..NOT! My other two spend all day peeing on top of each other's pee so I thought if I put her outside with them she would do the same..NOT. So please HELP me housebreak her any tips would be appreciated. I have never had any problems before and I have had many, many dogs.
My 14 yr old Daughter started her First Job today!
My 14 year old daughter started her first job today. I had told her that she wasn't allowed to have a job during term time, so she applied to work during the holidays. She was very lucky to get the number one job she wanted, working at a Pet Shop. She had four hours work this afternoon. She has to clean out all the dog cages, bag the mouse food & wash two puppies. She loved it. Apparently the three other people she worked with were great. In two days time she goes back to work another 4.5 hours. The manager taught her things about the goldfish, etc & then tested her a little while later. She was also given brochures to read on pet care in her spare time. I am very proud that she has done so well.
i just got a cat
So, we kind of started to look for a cat the past few days. The reason may not be a real good one, but it was the reason. About a month ago we started seeing traces of mice in our house. YUK!!! Those mice have done nothing but outsmart me over and over and over again. I have every kind of trap set and they go near them and leave me their droppings but, they never go in them. I told my husband that I was going to get a cat because I was tired of being outsmarted by mice, of all things. I started looking a few days ago. We have 5 dogs so, any cat we get would have to get along with dogs. Not sure how all the dogs will do with a cat because not only have they never been around one, I don't think they have even ever seen one. We went to many places yesterday, saw a few here and there. I originally was looking for a 6/7 month old cat as that is what people have told me I would be better of getting. When we were at the pound yesterday I came across a 3 year old female. I took her out and held her. Brought her near dog cages to see how she would react. She was great. I decided to adopt her but while doing the paperwork, the brought out the previous owners paperwork and it said NO...
Is slavery abolished or no?
A police raid on a brothel in Ho Chi Minh City has found 130 women kept in dog cages. The women were forced to work from 9am until 3am the following day in the Vietnamese city, according to an article in the Thanh Nien newspaper. This article really made me sad. Is slavery abolished or no? http://www.metro.co.uk/news/world/article.html?Women_kept_in_brothel_dog_cages&in_article_id=437890&in_page_id=64
Should NFL QB Michael Vick Be Given A Second Chance?
Michael Vick, more than a year ago, was sent to prison on a conviction of dog fighting. Evidence in the Michael Vick case showed that he was running a dog fighting operation in the backyard of one of his houses. There, they found dog cages, a dog fighting ring, among other things. Testimony from some of his friends provided information of Vick's involvement with training dogs to fight, financing the whole operation, killing dogs whom were no longer able to fight by drowning them, shocking them with electricity, and other brutal things. Consequently, he lost his endorsement, his big money contract, was released by the Atlanta Falcons, and was sent to prison. Recently, Vick signed a 2-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, after he was partially reinstated by the NFL Commissioner. With all this being said, should he get a second chance at playing football? I say yes he should. Why? It's simple, everybody deserves a second chance. It shouldn't matter who he or she is as long as he or she is sincerely sorry for what he or she did. Granted, I don't know how sincerely sorry he is, but he still deserve an opportunity to redeem himself. While I don't lie what he did, some of the...
