| | Our city and how it is laid out not that good | | Our city is really a conglomeration of former small cities all close together. There is Winnipeg proper, St. James, St. Vital, St. Boniface,Elmwood, Transcona, St Paul etc. Years ago to make things 'easier' they decided to eliminate all these little cities or change them into districts and make Winnipeg one big metropolis. And to make it even 'easier' instead of having branches of main metropolitan buildings in the districts, for instance we had to drive all the way almost to the St. James area for my husband to get his handicapped parking permit, and we had to go to Polo Park for him to hand in the receipts to Blue Cross. A few years ago, when we had to go to get the Filter for our Filter Queen, we had to go to St. James as well. So for those of you who live in a city that was once a few small cities but is now a metropolis, have you found things easier or are you forever running around because the place where you used to get your dog, car, or whatever license is way across town? | |
| | Approval? Approval is stupid. Why do you care if others approve or not? | | Just answer the question. One word answers like 'because' will not be tolerated. If you write a novel I wish I could publish it for you. I keep seeing people return to this subject. Why won't he/she[b]approve[/b] of me, why don't your parents/friends/dog/car (etc)[b]approve[/b] of me, I don't see why you[b]don't approve of my decision[/b] to delay college/get a job/move out/ leave the country/ be a singer/ hide under a rock.Why do we give OTHER PEOPLE and THINGS this power of 'approval' over us? Why can't we just DO WHAT WE WANT and not care about this approval thing? For me it's acceptance. I really prefer that people just accept things. Accepting doesn't mean APPROVING. Accepting doesn't mean you agree. It simply means that it is what it is and you aren't going to change my mind or get in my way and that's the end of it. I AM in favor of that. I feel that is how people need to interact in order to get along. I am still stuck on this approval thing though. It's petty. It doesn't matter.
