Update: Pet Food Recall List
A week ago, my dog died due to eating pet food that (at the time) wasn't on the recall list.A few people have asked where we can find the updated list of pet food that has made the recall list. I found it and I also found that it's not only wheat gluten but they have now added products that have rice gluten to the list. which has widened the recall list to include dry food and pet treats.you can find the list at the following link: http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/petfoodrecall/#Dogalso visit: http://www.premium4pets.net/pet-food-recall.htmlit also has the cat food lists. click all the links for further details about each product.please check out these lists, after watching helplessly as my dog suffered and died.. it's a horrible death that can be prevented if you know. don't trust your grocery store to remove these tainted items, because I have went to several places and seen the recalled brands still on the shelf. they are there to make money... even if it takes your pet's life to do it.
How to create fun for your pets?
I was going over one article from iVillage. “How to enrich your Pet’s life” http://home.ivillage.com/pets/cats/0,,qp4f,00.html I was working on plan nr 1 and one the way to hide some treats. My dogs didn’t let me hide anything; they eat it before it was hidden. My cat was crazy and eat first piece, still looking for second. It may work with my cat, but my dogs are so crazy about treats, they can locate it in one second or two. Should I keep working on number 2? How you create fun for your pets?

Have you ever fostered or adopted a dog from Taiwan? a Formosan Mt Dog?
The San Francisco Bay Area rescue group I volunteer for helps to place between 10 and 20 dogs rescued from Taiwan every year. Those of us who really love these dogs sometimes get grief for putting our efforts towards rescuing these dogs because there are so many other dogs in the US who also need rescue (Our all-volunteer rescue group helps rescue - including fostering, temperament rehabilitating, providing medical help for, spay and neuter as needed, and rehoming to permanent adoptive placements - somewhere in the neighborhood of more than two hundred US dogs a year, also). I say, every rescued dog is a rescued dog, and all dogs deserve a chance at a beloved-pet life. Do you have feelings about rescuing dogs from around the world? Do you know why particularly the feral dogs known as Formosan Mt Dogs are so generally despised in Taiwan? Do you have a Formosan Mt Dog or other dog from Taiwan that you love? How old is your Formosan? Which rescue group did you adopt him or her from? What makes your Formosan special to you?
What if you don't have enough money to treat your pet?
So, if your pet was really sick at the moment. The vet told you that you need to spend some thousand bucks to save your pet's life. You are so willing to save your closed companion, but you couldn't come up that much money at the moment. What would you do? Would you rather let it be, or you must find a way to come up that much money? What is your choice?
Sustaining a pet's life
I have a question pertaining to sustaining a pet's life that is at an elderly or feeble age and is not doing well physically. I do not personally have this problem in my life however I know there are those that will go to great lengths to keep an unhealthy or old pet's life going for as long as possible.I believe that these types of actions are prolonging suffering to some pets while also costing money to the owners.Have any of you been in a situation where you have prolonged an animal's life for as long as possible? Any of you that have an opinion on this matter? Thank you for all replies.[em]happy[/em]
People who give their dogs up...
I realize there are certain circumstances where some people have to give their beloved pets up, but there are also some people who act like pets are trading cards and they give them away then get another at their own leisure. Especially small dogs.1. Do NOT buy a pet for someone as a present unless you are absolutely sure they want it, are not allergic to it, and can have it at the place they live.2. Make sure any pets you already have get along with the new pet before you actually keep it.3. If you are wanting a puppy, yet plan to have kids in the next 14 years, please be aware that you will be taking care of a dog and a child at the same time. If that doesn't sound like something you can handle then do not get a puppy (or don't have a child).4. Make sure EVERYONE living in your home is not allergic to the new pet. Just because they've "been around" that type of pet before doesn't mean that they aren't allergic. It could mean that a short exposure to it doesn't do much to them. Also, different types of dogs have different hair which can cause the allergens and dander that get people sneezing and what not. 5. If you are moving within a distance that you can...
