| $ $ $ | | I wanted to place this under the category "frugal living" but with this new interest group layoput I couldn't find it. So I placed it here as it soes deal with "people" in the long run. HAHAHAHA! Now I have about 5 or more Dollar Stores all within 10 miles of my home. I visit them at least once a week. Mainly because I burn a lot of candles thus using a lot of lighters as well. I just went this weekend and got about a dozen cand;les and these lighters for $10 plus tax. I get my dads word search puzzles there as well, Buster gets his rawhide chews from there once or twice a year as well. I love shppoing there but the wife always says, "You were just here the other day. Why you need more candles?" HAHAHAHA. Well it's beacuse they don't always have the candles so if I am there and they have them I buy a lot so I won't run out. Do you shop the dollar stores? How often do you go? What are the main things you go there for? Or do you just pick up whatever they have that you may need or want?
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~ | |
| | Death of a pet | | I know many people see their pets as only animals. I see my pets as family members. When my first dog died from bone cancer at 7 years old, I cried for 2 weeks. She was a doberman, who weighted in at about 125 pounds. She was a sweet as can be, when I had a problem pregnancy, she stayed by me every minute to comfort me.My next dog, also a doberman, but a male, was a bit (ok a lot) goofier. He died at about 7 1/2, his liver was gone. We think it was due to the rawhide chews that he loved so much. We did not realize that many of them are treated with arsenic which can have bad effects on the liver. Now, I must admit, when my dogs died, I was devastated for weeks. When my ex-husband moved out, I never really missed him.So, how do you feel about your pets, are they family members to you? Are you effected by the death of a pet? How? | |

| My Bird Pepper | | I have a Red-headed Mexican amazon who is 14 years old. Lately he has been chewing his wood gym set to pieces. He has toys and he has rawhide chews but does not chew them. Is there anyone out there that can give me advice about this. Is it natural or is he being deprived of something in his diet. Thank you for any advice you might have. | |
| | Rawhide Chews? | | Do you give your dog rawhide bones and chews? My dog loves them, but my mom told me she read somewhere they could be dangerous. Both my boyfriend and I have been researching on the internet and haven't found a whole lot of negative information about rawhides. I did read that rawhide chews from foreign countries have had incidences of arsenic poisoning, and it is advised that you always buy rawhides made in the US. And I've also read that they can be a choking hazard... but then, so can anything you give your dog to chew! (and if you don't give your dogs things to chew on, they'll chew on your things!!) And I never let my dog chew on rawhides unsupervised. Have you ever had a bad experience with rawhides? Have you ever been advised not to give them to your dog? | |
